Empower
Knowledge and skills to help youth reach their full potential.
Mentoring program
Under the Empower program we conduct mentoring programs for University Students. The mentoring program aims to develop soft skills that connect the classroom experience to broader issues and prepares the students to face life’s challenges, acquire life skills and successfully participate in society. Some of the soft skills that are developed are communication skills, etiquette, grooming, presentation skills etc.So far we have mentored over 200 second year University Students from the Wayamba University. Our team of mentors are currently from Jetwing Hotels, Nestles, Slimline, Slimtex and Thurulie.
The mentors are senior to mid career professionals who are willing to commit to a 12 month program with an average commitment of one hour per fortnight.
We take great pride in the dedication, quality and passion of our mentors who have stepped forward to support young future leaders.
Tutoring
We also tutor children from economically disadvantaged neighbourhoods aged 13- 16 years in Math, Sinhala and English. Our volunteers assist the students with homework, to gain a better understanding of the subjects and to prepare for exams. Tutoring takes place on weekdays and on Saturdays depending on the availability of volunteers.
